The nursery offers a safe and secure environment both indoors and outdoors in which children can freely explore and learn through a wide variety of play experiences.

Within this happy environment, children can grow and develop to their full potential physically, socially, emotionally and intellectually. We promote positive behaviour and encourage children to respect each other and their surroundings.

An Idyllic Setting

Chapelfield Children's Day Nursery is a private, non-profit making organisation providing quality care for children aged from 3 months to 5 years. It opened in 1990 and has been run by a limited company since 1998. It operates from a purpose built nursery unit which is situated in Chapelfield Gardens near the centre of Norwich.

CCDN Team

Throughout the nursery we have a strong supportive team who all have a caring professional approach to all children, parents/carers, families and outside agencies.

The nursery employs 25 permanent members of staff and has their own bank of relief staff. All the staff have been trained to a Level 3 qualification or above. Staff carry out additional training which includes Child Protection, Early Years First Aid, and Food Safety in Catering.

Food and Drink

We have a full time cook on site to prepare lunch and tea. A seasonal menu is devised to ensure that the requirements of a healthy balanced and nutritious diet are met. We provide a hot meal at lunchtime and a light meal for tea. Our meals are prepared from fresh ingredients.

Water is available throughout the day. A variety of fruits and savoury options are offered as a morning and afternoon snack.

We offer the following care options, all year-round, Monday-Friday.

Fees

Fees are payable one month in advance. Invoices are sent out on (approximately) the 4th of the month, with payment due on 18th of the month. We accept many voucher schemes and we are also enrolled with the government tax free childcare scheme.

*This charge covers essential consumables, including food and drinks, and helps the nursery to be sustainable as a non-profit oganisation.

Most children are entitled to government funding from the term after they turn 9 months old. Depending on parent eligibility, this will be either 15 or 30 hours per week for 38 weeks of the year. At Chapelfield Nursery, we apply the funding to invoices during term time for children who attend three or more days, however we can ‘stretch’ the funding over 51 weeks of the year for children who attend two days.
